New Hampshire Education
New Hampshire has more than 150 public high schools, more than a dozen private high schools, and roughly two dozen colleges and universities, including prestigious Dartmouth College in Hanover and the highly respected University System of New Hampshire.
Although the state is not known for spending drastic amounts on its schools, it actually ranks third among states for the percentage of its budget spend on elementary and secondary education, and it is 11th-best in the country for student-to-teacher ratio (13.5 to 1). Over 90 percent of New Hampshire residents are high school graduates, ranking it sixth in the country, and 35.4 percent have a bachelor's degree or better, good for third best.
